Code of Practice
The WIA has established a Code of Practice to guide companies that offer fine wine investment services. WIA member companies will have passed a compliance audit to determine that their operational systems are robust and fit for purpose and that they undertake to adhere to the Association’s Code of Practice governing fulfilment, custodianship of clients’ wine and ethical marketing and selling techniques.
The Code of Practice covers the following areas:
- Fulfilment of orders
- Safe title
- Fine wine investment information
- Market performance and valuations
- Pricing and fees
- Marketing, advertising and promotion
- Transparency in dealings with customers
- Use of the WIA logo
- Cooling off period
- Best practice
